Weather check

As I plan on doing some of my filming outside this Wednesday, I had to check the weather would be appropriate to film in as I require to use the field. As you can see the weather forecast for Wednesday shows it is partly cloudy. This will be perfect for my filming and the weather forecast for Tuesday shows it is only partly cloudy also, this means the field will not be wet and muddy from the night before and we will hopefully not have to stop filming due to rain on the Wednesday.

Confirmation of pictures

 

As part of my trailer I will have a teacher cross out my actors face (bottom left) to show they have been 'eliminated' form the school. In order to do this a I needed a classes photos to make it look more like a registered class and more realistic, I asked everyone whose pictures were used if they were comfortable with having this on film. For those who were not comfortable I put a cross through their picture as to cover their faces, this also adds to my trailer of other students that have previously been 'eliminated'. All students pictures used have viewed this and confirmed that they're happy for me to use it.

 

Magazine and Poster Comparasions

Below are some popular movie posters and some magazines promoting them. As you can see, the magazine usually uses the same picture as the poster, or at least one extremely similar. I have decided to use my final poster picture for my magazine cover also as it shows synergy and is also realistic to other magazine covers.

 

Poster Makeup ideas #3

Despite experimenting with the different colours, I have decided to use the colour black for my poster makeup. I decided this as it is a dark colour associated with danger similar to 'thrillers' which also associate to danger. I felt the colour black gave it a more scary feel as it is the darkest colour which can imply the film will be 'dark'. To ensure I was certain on using to colour black I tested it on my actor, below is a picture showing how it has turned out.

Soundtrack ideas

After doing some research into good music/soundtracks for trailers a name that I found to appear a lot was 'Immediate Music'. I researched more into this and found their whole album of over 3 hours uploaded onto YouTube. I have spent a long time listening to the songs on this album and almost all of them have the feel of suspense and tension which is perfect for my trailer. However I feel some of them sound more heroic than mysterious and I want my trailer to be more mysterious as it is unclear what is happening. So far I have decided that 'Pandora's Nightmare' is my favourite choice for my trailer as I feel it is mysterious but builds up a lot of tension. Once my trailer is fully completed I will play 'Pandoras nightmare' over the top in order to see whether or not it works, if it does not work I will continue to research and find a more suitable soundtrack.

Poster makeup ideas #2

As I have already experimented with dark colours I decided I did not want to settle on just dark shades, therefore I decided to experiment with lighter more colourful shades as to contrast with the genre of the film. I felt by using these contrasting colours it would make the thriller appear more creepy. Through the title of my film and the zipped mouth I felt these 'fun' colours would not appear fun at all therefore giving the poster a more eerie and interesting look.

 

 

Like with my darker shades the pictures show what colours appeared better and clearer on my hand than they did around Ryan's eyes. I will eliminate the colours that do not show very well like before and compare the other colours to the darker shades and eventually choose which is most effective for my genre of film.

Poster makeup ideas #1

For my poster I have decided to use make-up around the eyes to make to more creepy and eye catching, because it is a thriller the first colour I thought to use was black. However, before I jump to any immediate decisions I decided to experimented with other darker colours to see how they look. It also showed me how they colours will come up on the camera. Below are five dark shades I could potentially use as make-up for my poster.

As it shows in the pictures certain colours have shown up better on the back on my hand rather than on Ryan's face, this helps me eliminate colours that are hard to see. The other colours that show well I will compare to black and later decide which I feel is best for the poster and genre.

Planning filming

When planning my filming I had to confirm with my actors whether they were available. My filming will have to be done on various different days so its important for me to confirm whether my actors can participate, otherwise I will have to re-schedule any filming dates. Above shows the messages from the 08/03/15 confirming that we were able to do some filming the next day.
