This video enabled me to understand the opinions of those also involved in the trailer and who had more of an insight in. By understanding the actors opinions I feel it will help me understand the success of the trailer as they were involved with the making. Although they both mention wanting to give their character either more screen time or script, they both praised the overall trailer and I received no negative comments reflecting the camera angles, editing and effects. They both agreed on the age to be '12A' which shows me my research was accurate. Now the filming has all been completed I can now begin editing my final piece.
This is my A2 Media Blog where I had to create a trailer for a movie genre of my choice, I chose Thriller. This blog shows all my research and planning whilst creating my trailer and all the changes I made throughout until I finally created the final piece - Silent Students.

Cast Interview
The video below is an interview with two of my cast members. They talk about what they like about the trailer and their roles and what they would do to add any improvements. Overall they are very supporting and happy with the final result of the trailer.

Directors response
I recently got in touch with the agent of well known director James Watkins, the creator of 'The Woman is Black. I did this in order to try and gain some valuable knowledge from James of his experiences within the industry and more specifically of the Thriller genre. I was hoping to use this knowledge and information as a platform to push my production onto the next level and hopefully replicate the industry standards. Earlier today I received a reply for his agent, unfortunately she informed me that James is very busy at the moment due to work commitments and is un-able to get in contact personally but wishes me well.
Although I was not able to receive advice at this time, I was appreciative that they took the time to reply to my email anyway. I feel that it was a very good opportunity to chase up and feel that despite it I have used my time effectively and can now move onto different avenues of research.

Introducing the Characters
Below are the characters that will be featuring in my trailer and what part they play. There is also a 'villain' involved whose role is a teacher.
Georgia - Georgia is the love interest of the main character, she also plays the heroin and is featured in the trailer as the 'damsel in distress'.
Ryan - Ryan is the main character, he is the new kid at this school and eager to figure out what is so bizarre about it. The trailer portrays him as the hero as he appears to rescue Georgia and shows him in various shots suspiciously trying to get behind the secret of the missing students and the story behind their disappearances.
I decided on these characters as its the stereotypical, hero who saves the girl from the villain. Although this is mainstream its also a popular scenario produced for thousands of films, I decided on these three actors as they suited my location and story, based in a school full of teachers and students. They are all of the appropriate age range and are able to relate to the physicality and role of their character.

Target Audience
I have decided I want my target audience to specifically be teenagers. I decided this because they are the main group of individuals who have social activities and the biggest age group to attend the cinema. I also believe my film will attract more young viewers as it has young actors and location is set within a school which other students can relate with. In order to be successful I must plan my film and also trailer so the age rating is appropriate. I have chosen my film rating to be a 12A.
Emailing a director
I have taken it upon myself to email the director of 'The Woman in Black', James Watkins, in order to receive any advice he can give me regarding creating a thriller. As James Watkins himself cannot be directly emailed I have had to email his agent.
Below is a screenshot of the email, I am still currently waiting for a response.

Tick list
I have created myself a list in order to give myself ideas for blog posts. The list enables me to remember post ideas and track where I am up to by ticking off the posts I have already completed, I feel much more organise having the list as guidance.

Magazine Inspirations
As part of my coursework I also need to create a magazine cover, promoting my film. I have taken a look at a few magazine covers featuring films as inspiration and to help give me a rough idea of how I would like mine to look, these are a few of my favourite and also promote very global popular films.
